I Need a Nap

This statement is always true for me, but Kylie rarely believes it is true for her. Today, however, we finished our lunch and she hopped down off her chair and said rather matter of factly. . . I need a nap. She walked into her room, shut the door (which she usually HATES), climbed into bed and laid down. I worried that maybe she didn't really need a nap, but rather some privacy so she could do something I wouldn' t allow. . . if I knew about it. I peeked in to check on her just now, and she is laying still as a can be. I am very impressed! She has been so good, sweet, and obedient lately! She is playing better with Madelyn and is always asking, "Mommy, can you kiss me?" She responds so well to being loved and has so much love to offer in return. Kylie, I love you!

Big Decisions

As I was getting Madelyn dressed today, Kylie opened her closet doors and said, "What should I wear?" I can't believe how grown up she is. She certainly has a mind of her own!

How do you keep a straight face?

As I stood at my kitchen bar while working on my laptop (we don't have any bar stools), Kylie came up behind me and bit my bottom. Yowzers! She is always pretending she is a tiger or puppy or something. Of course I had to put her in time out which really wasn't hard because her bite really hurt. I continued to work with her just a few feet away in time-out. It wasn't long before I heard the sweetest little voice say, "Mommy, I'm sorry Mommy. . . I'm sorry I bite your bum." How many times have you heard that kind of an apology! I couldn't keep from laughing. While trying to maintain a straight face (and failing) I tried to teach her the principle of repentace & told her how happy it makes me when she says she's sorry. She melts my heart!
